Metapan dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to San Salvador's 34. They outrebounded San Salvador 48-37 including a 42-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Metapan players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) had a double-double by scoring 32 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized American center Cameron Lard (206-1997, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest.
